Its a fun little incremental, I found it all easy to understand , the only things I found a little confusing were

- I didn't realize I could destroy resources for a while

- The wording made it seem like smithy's boosted the resources not the gatherers

I also think having the prestige tree fully or partly visible would be better, you get so few upgrades per island that it feels bad to be gussing what comes next

I also think the island generation could be a little unfair if not enough wood spawns you have to expand quite a bit which screws you over later when you unlock iron and gold because there is not enough space for them to spawn, personally I would let people use boats even if they don't yet have enough for  any upgrades so they can re roll bad islands

but over all I had fun, I would like to see more building types, maybe combo ones or different types of bonuses or effecting different areas, to make it so there are more interesting choices , maybe some things taken from catan , like roads or ports ?

I think this is a very fun game and I really enjoyed it, it was very fun and enjoyable, I think It could use somethings such as a main menu would be great, possibly multiple continents/islands that have different environments and maybe OIL(to totally not ruin the planet), and there is a bug were you can zoom in infinitely and move infinitely. and thank you for playing my game

Didn't quite know what to do at 1st but figured it out pretty fast, it is pretty fun. Maybe add more difficulty like maybe a time limit for levels or something.. But is does have an addictive element to it. Nice job!

Hey!

Cool Game!

I wasn't sure what to do at the beginning because that's not the kind of game i would usually play but after browsing and clicking on the different platforms i understood how it works and i liked it.

I would maybe add a short tutorial just for the first build. maybe somekind of animation or progress bar to add juice to the feel. I liked the economics and the gradual progress.

i played full screen from my laptop and the zoom in/out was too sensitive for me.

I’m also looking for feedback on a short browser game I just released, Toy Box Challenge. It’s a 5-minute physics stacking game and I’m currently looking for desktop + mouse playtesters. If you feel like trying it, I’d really appreciate your honest first impression:

Good luck :)

Thanks! I will take a look at your game when I get time

Hi, I played your game:

It was nice and cute. Like the chill vibes. The block stacking challenges could be a bit harder and more varied. As it is now, I could always just stack the square blocks.

Thanks a lot for recording this! seeing how you approached the game is especially useful!

Your point about the square blocks makes a lot of sense. If they’re always the easiest solution, the other shapes aren’t really forcing enough different strategies. I’m going to keep an eye on whether other playtesters run into the same thing before changing the level design.

Really glad the chill/cute vibe worked for you. Thanks for the thoughtful feedback!

Hey, the game mechanics are great.

This isn’t usually the kind of game I’m looking for—I tend to prefer games with more pressure or threats on the player—but I still spent about an hour playing and stopped just before starting to mine gold.

I tried to make a video, but it didn’t work out. I’m not very good at making videos anyway, and it would probably have been silent 90% of the time.

A few things that happened while playing:

  • Once, I clicked repeatedly on the upgrade button for a building and then, almost by reflex, clicked “Remove.” I’m not sure if that was just me being stupid, or if my brain interpreted it as the button to close the small building window. Maybe “Remove” could require a double click or confirmation if other players have the same experience. It only happened to me once, so it might just be me.
  • For exploring, maybe middle-click or right-click could instantly explore an area. If I remember correctly, you currently have to click a tile to select it, then click Explore.
  • For music, you could check an Imperialism gameplay video to hear the world-map music and overall vibe. I think something similar could fit your game well.
  • Sound effects, 2D animations, and graphics could also improve the experience. The graphics are already okay, but I feel they could be improved—though that is subjective.

If you want the game to be played by as many people as possible, I think those points would help make the thumbnail, screenshots, and gameplay videos more attractive. Once people start playing, I think the current gameplay can do the rest.

I understood the game without any major issue by reading and experimenting.

The “prestige” part—or the upgrades between ship travels—was a little confusing. I wasn’t sure whether I was buying upgrades with points for the current run, or unlocking them permanently for the next game. But honestly, I was focused on having fun with the building-placement gameplay, so I may have skipped or not fully read the explanation. My guess is that you buy them with exploration points and they stay active permanently in future games.

If you need more feedback, let me know. Your video helped me a lot.

Have a nice day!

thanks a lot, this was really help full

Hey played the game, it was pretty fun when it ramped up. Played 3 iterations stopped and like 7 research points I think.

Hey @simenhs, visiting from my Super Soccer page! I gave it a try on my phone. To be completely honest, I was pretty lost at the beginning 😅.

Like some others mentioned here, it took a lot of trial and error with the woodcutters just to figure out what the actual goal was since there's no tutorial. The 'Boat' goal definitely helps give it some direction later on, but I have to agree that the cost scaling gets pretty rough.

It has a cool cozy 'Polytopia' vibe though! With a quick onboarding/tutorial at the start, it would be much easier for new players to get hooked. Keep at it! 🚀

Hi, I just played a few rounds of your game and here's what I thought.

The game is quite addictive. At first, I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to do; perhaps a mini-tutorial would help explain things a bit, at least that the goal is to build a castle.

You could also add icons to the top bar where the values of what you're collecting appear, and even to the small worker selection screens, perhaps with red and green arrows to indicate what you gain and lose.

You could even add toast notifications to alert you when an objective has been completed, for example, the one for getting the boat to go to another area.

Overall, it's really cool. If you add satisfying sounds or if you're willing to include small 2D/3D models of the workers with their animations, it could be a very eye-catching game. Congratulations!

Hi!

I played your game and I like it, it has a bit of a CIV/Polytopia vibe.

Generally a bit afraid of idle clickers as they can be a bit of a time vortex.

Thank you so much, this was very helpful

I like the boat addition and stuff

2300s

Neat little concept

cute

cost scaling is pretty awful

I wanted to give the game a try, but it's fully black when I fullscreen. Out of fullscreen, the window is too small. Firefox. Not sure if it helps, but here's the log:

i cleared all the land, built 2 wood cutters and I don't think i can do anything else

lol, classic

build the wood cutter next to trees

a bit of onboarding / tutorial go a long way

True, it took some trial and error.

(to be clear, I'm just a rando with no connection to this game other than trying it and leaving a comment)

I agree

main complaint is inversed mouse wheel lmao + RMB could've been used for camera panning
